Motor Behavior Concentration, M.S.
Overview
The M.S. Program in Kinesiology with a concentration in Motor Behavior is primarily intended for individuals who wish to gain an advanced knowledge base in the areas of motor learning and motor control. This is a coursework only (non-thesis) degree.
The Motor Behavior area focuses on research in the disciplines of motor learning and motor control. This collaborative environment prepares practitioners, researchers, and educators to reduce injury risk, return to normal function post-injury, and improve health and performance for physically active individuals of all ages.
The Student Experience

We offer in-depth core courses and a highly diverse array of electives, enabling students to take ownership of their career preparation and tailor their college experience to their interests and aspirations.
- We offer opportunities for students interested in a broad range of career specializations, including physical education, athletic training, community youth sport development, exercise instruction, exercise psychology, exercise physiology, and much more.
- You will progress through your degree based on your individual plan of study as approved by your advisor and committee.
- Faculty and graduate students in the motor behavior area primarily work in one of the four labs listed below, but they are encouraged to use any lab space/resources that can help address their specific research questions. Each lab has a unique focus, as outlined below:
AFTER GRADUATION
Graduates from this program can be qualified to enter a Ph.D. program or serve as a research assistant or program manager for a research lab.
