The Department of Kinesiology is one of eight departments and two programs within the School of Health and Human Sciences (HHS) at UNCG. The shared mission within HHS is to enhance the health and well-being of the people of the state, region, and nation through excellence in teaching, research, and service.
UNDERGRADUATE DEGREES
Kinesiology is science with a difference – a fast-growing field with opportunities as diverse as health education, scientific research, community development, and fitness training.
KINESIOLOGY, B.S.
This major prepares students for careers in preventive and rehabilitative exercise and fitness, and serves as a pre-professional program of study with a focus on exercise and sport science that also encompasses other fields of science (biology, chemistry, physics, health, nutrition, and pharmacology).
PHYSICAL EDUCATION AND HEALTH TEACHER EDUCATION WITH K-12 LICENSURE, B.S.
Our specialized major in Physical Education and Health Teacher Education (PEHTE), leads to K-12 licensure to teach physical education in North Carolina and many other states.
SPORT COACHING MINOR
The Sport Coaching Minor may be chosen by any degree-seeking UNC Greensboro student. Students will learn the profession of sport coaching including the nature of the profession, qualifications, skills, and issues relative to coaching in community youth sport, and interscholastic sport activities.
TRANSFER STUDENTS
You are considered a transfer student if you have 24 or more transferable college credit hours from an accredited institution and have graduated high school/earned an equivalency.
