Fall 2022 Doctoral Hooding Ceremony: Smiles and Celebrations

On December 8th, 2022, the EdD in KIN program celebrated the following graduates at UNCG’s doctoral hooding ceremony: Jene’ Baclawski, Alain Aguilar, Amber Fair Booker, and Dianne Habring-Frelich. Dr. Gill, Dr. Hemphill, and Dr. Brooks hooded these graduates in recognition of their achievements.

Ed.D. Alumna creates a teaching advisory committee at Wake Forest university

Since graduation in May of 2022, Dr. Abbie Wrights has continued working as a teaching professional at Wake Forest University in the Health and Exercise Science (HES) Department. But, while her position has not changed, she has been able to directly apply both her coursework and dissertation findings to her current role.

Amber Fair Booker: a lot has changed in 6 months

After a little more than 6 months in business, we decided to check back in with Amber Fair Booker to hear more about how things are going at One Wellness Center, especially as she prepares to graduate from UNCG in December. Amber shared that things are going well and they can continue to grow their services.

“Yoga therapy is not just physical practice,” says Mona Flynn, third- year Ed.D. candidate in kinesiology. “People tend to equate yoga with posture, but there’s so much more it has to offer. I want yoga to be recognized for its worth, as both a restorative practice and a preventative one.”

Student Fuses Kinesiology and Business to Fuel his Passion

Kinesiology senior Jaden Lassiter knows that increasing his skillset is the best way to get ahead in a competitive job market. He wanted to have a career in the health industry, but at the end of his junior year, he thought he should do something to make himself more marketable.
