Aaron Piepmeier and Matthew Wittstein were finalists in the Three Minute Thesis competition hosted by UNCG’s Graduate School. During the qualifying rounds held in November, 60 students presented their thesis and the Kinesiology students took two of the ten finalist spots.
Aaron was featured for “A Closer Look at the Role of BDNF as Causal link in Physical Activity-Cognition Relationship.” Matthew presented “Heart, Lungs, Movement: Connecting All the Dots to Better Health.” To see who took first place in the 3MT competition and get more information on how to enter next year, visit the Graduate School’s website.
The Three Minute Thesis (3MT®) created at Queensland University, challenges Ph.D. students to present a compelling oration on their thesis topic and its significance in just three minutes. Since its development in 2008, the competition has grown into a global event including 170 universities spanning over 18 countries.
