With summer right around the corner, you may be looking forward to the time you can spend outside basking in the warm sunshine. While this is time of year offers the chance for numerous outdoor activities, it’s also the perfect time to remind everyone that May is National Skin Cancer Awareness Month. Founded in 1979, the Skin Cancer Foundation has empowered people to protect their skin and has pushed for a proactive approach for early detection and treatment of skin cancer. They have compiled a great list of ways that you can get involved with Skin Cancer Awareness Month, as well as providing fantastic resources on skin cancer risk factors, detection, and treatment.
