Connect: Community

The Department of Kinesiology’s mission is twofold – to provide a world-class education to our students, and to engage with the community to work on improving health outcomes for everyone. As part of our mission, we partner with the community in a variety of programs to develop health and fitness strategies and solutions, improve health and fitness education and help create and maintain positive lifestyle changes.

Interested in participating? Our professionally supervised programs are affordable, community-focused, and diverse, with a range of tailored opportunities for everyone, from children to senior citizens. Additionally, we offer volunteer opportunities to work with high school students in our Project Effort and Middle College programs, helping create pathways to success. We also seek internship opportunities for our Kinesiology students to provide professional experience.

Your partnership helps create positive outcomes not just for you, but for our Kinesiology students as well, giving them hands-on experience in developing and implementing programs, and building the skill sets they’ll go on to use after graduation in their professional careers and their communities.

Below you’ll find a list of our current community-focused partnership programs. Click the links to learn more about each program.
