M.S. in Athletic Training (M.S.A.T.)
The Department of Kinesiology offers a Master of Science in Athletic Training (M.S.A.T.) degree that is designed to prepare persons to sit for the National Athletic Trainers’ Association Board of Certification (BOC) Examination and earn the credentials as a Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC). The 50 credit hour MSAT is fully accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE).
After UNCG
Students who graduate with an MSAT degree and who have passed the BOC examination to obtain the ATC credential will obtain jobs as athletic trainers in variety of patient settings. The following is a list of settings where alumni currently work: colleges, universities, high schools, sports medicine clinics, physician’s offices, pediatric hospitals, sport performance gyms, dance companies, professional sports, and the military.
