Update From Dr. Andrew Hamilton on Course Changes for Fall 2020

Dr. Andrew Hamilton has posted a video and how-to document for viewing your student schedule for online or hybrid courses, or changing your student schedule. Follow the link to view the video or how-to document: Hybrid courses for Fall 2020

COURSE DEFINITIONS:

Face-to-Face – A course that meets on campus in a prescribed physical meeting space with the instructor with a regular meeting pattern.

Online – A course that doesn’t meet on campus and does not have a prescribed physical meeting space with the instructor. All course work is completed utilizing online platforms like Canvas, Zoom, iSpartan email, etc.
SYNC (Synchronous) – is the kind of learning that happens in real time. This means that you, your instructor, and your classmates will interact in a specific virtual place, through a specific online medium, at a specific time. Specific details will be provided from your instructor.
ASYN (Asynchronous) – is the kind of learning that happens without meeting times with an instructor or classmates. You will be afforded the flexibility to access and complete these assignments at a time that is most convenient for you, while being provided with clear expectations and due
dates.

Hybrid – A course that has components of both Face-to-Face and Online instruction. A hybrid course still has regular meeting patterns with the instructor. This means you may meet with your instructor on a virtual platform during the prescribed meeting time, then later in the week meet with your instructor in the classroom during the prescribed meeting time (or vice versa!)
Classroom “ONLC 000” – This is not an on campus classroom. This is a way for you to know in a hybrid course that you will be meeting virtually utilizing some online meeting platform like Zoom, WebEx, etc.
